Aidar Utkelov, Director of Astana Property Management (Talan Towers project) made a welcoming speech at the event in Astana: “The topic of the event is very interesting for us, and we are very attentive to new technologies in modern construction. As you know, Talan Towers is the first building in Kazakhstan that is designed and built in accordance with the international LEED standard for energy efficient and environmentally friendly buildings. One of the components for which points are awarded under this standard is the presence of a "green" roof at such a facility. And we are considering the possibility of using the services of the organizers of the event when landscaping our roof. We are sure that the topic of the seminar is especially relevant before the EXPO-2017 in Astana and its main topic “Energy of the Future”.
In Almaty, the participants and guest speakers were greeted by Denis Makeev, a member of the KazGBC Board of Directors: “This event is held under the patronage of the Kazakhstan Green Building Council, since one of the areas we supervise is the creation of energy efficient green roofs. We are confident that today's opportunity for specialists to undergo training from scratch and gain expert knowledge, and not only theoretical, but based on the examples of the world's best projects, will lay a solid foundation for the practical application of energy efficient roofs in green construction in Kazakhstan."
Today, there are many ways to improve energy efficiency, one of the key segments of energy-efficient construction is roofing. Government support for the promotion of roof greening is an important tool for sustainable urban planning. After the RIO + 20 Summit, the forces of Kazakhstani society are aimed at implementing the strategy for the transition to a “green” economy. Projects such as "Green Bridge", Astana EXPO-2017 and holding conferences dedicated to the introduction of green technologies demonstrate the importance of this issue for Kazakhstan and for the international capital of Astana. Astana clearly shows its susceptibility to modern trends in world-class urban planning, on the example of such unique objects as Baiterek, the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, Khan Shatyr and other significant projects. Astana is becoming an effective platform for demonstrating the world's best developments and trends in the field of green building innovations.
Based on the results of the past two-day seminars, the participants of the event received certificates of completion of training in roof gardening.
