The conversation will focus on natural light - the Danes, like all northern peoples, are not spoiled by the sun, but they know how to design in such a way that light appears as a valuable material for creating an architectural space, a harmonious environment. Light directly affects human life: from mood and health to performance. But despite the fact that most of the time people spend inside buildings, a huge number of buildings in the world are made without taking into account the natural movement of air and light. What is the most effective way to use all the possibilities of natural lighting in projects of different directions? Leading Danish architects will share their experience: Sine Kongebro - partner of Henning Larsen Architects, Jan Söndergaard - partner of KHR, and Helle Juul - founder and partner of JUUL | FROST Arkitekter.

“The first thing that the Creator did, as we know, was to separate the light from the darkness. The architect does about the same in every project,”says Nikita Tokarev, director of the MARCH Architectural School. The intelligent use of natural light in architecture is something that excites architects anywhere in the world.

What is the advantage of daylight as a separate design parameter? How does the geometry of a building, layout, facade and interior materials help to capture and retain natural rays? And what should be taken into account in a full-scale reconstruction of a city, a separate house or premises? These are the questions the architect faces when he creates a project in accordance with modern ideas about economy and comfort. Sine Conguebro, an expert in the development of projects, strategies and methods for energy optimization of buildings of all sizes, will talk about how to embrace sustainability as a production strategy for an architectural firm.

Signe Kongebro is an architect, co-owner and head of the sustainable development department of the famous Henning Larsen Architect bureau. She is an accomplished designer who combines research and advocacy, teaches and writes books. Sine Conguebro actively participates in public discussions on energy conservation and creating a comfortable environment, collaborates with scientific societies and organizations, and makes reports at international conferences. Conguebro has led the development of several innovative development projects.

Henning Larsen Architects is an international architectural firm founded in 1959 by the world famous Danish architect Henning Larsen. Now the offices of the company, which unites about three hundred employees, are open in Copenhagen, Riyadh, Munich, Oslo, Faroe Islands, Istanbul. Cine Conguebro joined Henning Larsen Architects in 2001 and eventually became a member of the company's management. It is here that Sina's ideas are realized - the bureau has valuable experience in constructing buildings, the appearance of which is formed from interaction with lighting. After all, Henning Larsen himself was recognized as the "Master of Light".

Helle Juul believes that the change of light emphasizes the experience of the observer - finding him right here and now. This makes daylight a tool that allows architecture to create the ideal foundation for human life.

Helle Juul: CEO, Founder, Partner of an Architectural Company

JUUL | FROST Arkitekter. Over two decades, she has accumulated extensive practical and scientific experience in the development and planning of urban space and campus areas.
