This initiative arose as the development of long-term cooperation between Knauf and Moscow Architectural Institute and the idea to expand students' knowledge of building technologies applied in practice.
The first lecture was devoted to KNAUF solutions in the field of fire protection and introduction to architectural acoustics. Pavel Belov told the students about the current state standards in the field of fire safety and KNAUF fire protection solutions, developed taking them into account. “Modern technologies make it possible to create not only fire-resistant, but also completely non-combustible materials,” said the speaker. "They are durable, retain their properties throughout the entire service life and withstand various, including smoldering fires."
The second lecture was about innovative dry construction systems - KNAUF AQUAPANEL facade systems. Evgeny Klochkov introduced the audience to the requirements that the modern urban environment places on the outer walls. “Today, in a densely built environment, the ability to expand the usable area of buildings through building solutions is a global advantage, along with reliability, energy efficiency and versatility.” The lecturer told the students about the solutions that KNAUF had developed for external walls and ceilings. AQUAPANEL facade systems help companies create seamless surfaces, including curved shapes, inside and outside buildings.
The final lecture was devoted to modular construction technologies. The director of the Novy Dom company, a joint project of SVEZA and KNAUF, Mikhail Gets, introduced the students to an innovative approach for Russia to individual and multi-apartment construction, and spoke about plans to use these technologies in Russia. “Modular construction technologies significantly reduce the cost and timing of construction work, and due to industrial optimization, the high quality, reliability and mobility of the facilities being built are preserved,” said Mikhail Gets. “From an architectural point of view, these houses cannot be called faceless, since in modular construction, an individual approach to design is widely used, depending on the needs and desires of the family.”
