The final of the 1st open championship of professional skills according to WorldSkills Russia standards of the North-West Federal District was held in St. Petersburg at the Expoforum exhibition complex. Materials for the competition (KNAUF-lists, KNAUF-profiles, KNAUF-Rotband, KNAUF Rotband-Finish) were provided by the North-West Sales Directorate of OOO KNAUF GIPS. Also these days, the second stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of Professional Skills - the City Competition "Step into the Profession - 2015" was held.
The North-West Sales Directorate of Knauf acted as a partner of the event and provided materials for one of the competencies - "Dry construction and plastering", in which six participants competed from St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Kaliningrad and Vologda regions. The first place was taken by Mikhail Zaripov, a student of the Cherepovets Construction College.
The competition task was developed by KNAUF specialists in cooperation with WSR experts and included the installation of walls on a metal frame with a single-layer cladding made of gypsum building boards (GSP), finishing puttying of the assembled structure, as well as a creative module performed in a free style.
For several days, the competition site was visited by more than 16.5 thousand guests - students of secondary schools, colleges, representatives of organizations and enterprises of the city. The schoolchildren watched with interest the work of the contestants and it is likely that some of the school graduates will choose the profession of "Master of dry construction", which is actively supported by the KNAUF company.
