The Bureau of Mexican architect Fernando Romero presented a project for the Museum of Latin American Art: a building will appear on the Miami waterfront that will house "one of the most ambitious collections of Latin American art." We are talking about about 600 works from the collection of collector Gary Nader (Gary Nader), which will make up the permanent exhibition of the museum.

The four-storey building LAAM (Latin American Art Museum) is a cascade of overlapping trapezoidal consoles in plan, each of which is rotated relative to the neighboring ones. These open spaces with a "sculpture garden" on them should bring its context to the interior of the museum, so that the interior also feels the movement of wind, the sun's rays, the proximity of the ocean and the shade of green trees.

The first floor of the museum will house installations by young artists that should grab the attention of passers-by on Biscayne Boulevard. Temporary exhibitions will accommodate the second floor, the permanent exhibition - the third. The restaurant will be located on the uppermost tier. These four levels are connected by staircases both inside and outside, which, in addition to its direct functional purpose, also carries a symbolic meaning, interpreting the traditions of tropical architecture open to the outside.

The museum will become part of a residential complex with 111 apartments, which will be completed later. Thus, it will become a meeting place for art and life.

LAAM will become a platform for promoting young promising artists, where their work can be seen not only by lovers of Latin American art, but by the general public - tourists and citizens.

The museum completes a series of ambitious architectural projects that should make Miami an important cultural center. The Frank Gehry Concert Hall and the Herzog & de Meuron Museum of Art have already been erected, the construction of the Nicholas Grimshaw Science Museum is nearing completion, but Fernando Romero became the first Latin American architect to join this "movement".
