Large-scale sports facilities, respectable business centers, and ultra-modern offices are literally made of glass today. Aluminum profile systems, including the alt=F50 mullion-transom facade system, allow to create a glassy splendor. On the basis of various modifications of this system, structures with complex geometry, high thermal insulation capacity and bright architectural expressiveness are being implemented. This system is used for the manufacture of translucent facades without visible fastening of double-glazed windows. The filling is fixed from the end of the filling, and thermal insulating materials are installed in the space between the glass units. The basis for this system is the mullion-transom facade system alt=" F50.

ALT F50 SG allows constructions of various configurations and degrees of complexity: straight, angular, bay window, inclined. At the same time, the manufacture and installation of double-glazed windows is simplified, and the seams between them can be sealed both with the help of silicone sealant and with the help of seals.

The total glazing area of the 15-storey business center "Kravira City", also built in the Belarusian capital in 2014, amounted to 4000 m2… During the construction of its facade, semi-structural glazing alt=" F50 SSG was used, created on the basis of the classic post-transom series alt=" F50. The main aesthetic difference of such a facade solution is the absence of wide 50 mm clamping and decorative covers. Instead, thin, flat, almost invisible from the outside pressure profiles are used. The black painted profiles adhere tightly to the glass and create the illusion of structural glazing.

ALT F50 SSG provides for the installation of "warm" windows - thermal inserts and seals provided in the system allow installing double-glazed windows with a thickness of 28 to 62 mm. In this case, glazing, as well as the installation of window blocks, are carried out outside the building.

The object is notable for its integrated facade windows of the "hidden sash" type - for the first time in Belarus, such windows provide thermal insulation at the level of 1 m2* C / W. They have external opening and are outwardly similar to the blind parts of the facade, due to which this type of construction is called "hidden sash".

Chizhovka-Arena: a sports classic

An example of the classic version of the alt=" F50 system is a multifunctional cultural, sports and entertainment complex "Chizhovka-Arena", built specifically for the 78th Ice Hockey World Championship, which was held on May 9-25, 2014 in Minsk (Belarus). This is a modern complex, the main structures of which resemble two drops of water shining in the sun. Streamlined arenas - "drops" were built on the banks of the Chizhovskoye reservoir and harmoniously fit into the landscape, continuing the theme of water, air and light.

The glittering facades of the arenas are highly technical. Thanks to the post-transom system alt=F50, the heat transfer resistance of both facades meets the increased requirements for thermal insulation and is 1 m2∙ С / W. The round shape of the arenas was created using a hinged ventilated façade system ALT150, which allows the tiles to be fixed at an angle of 40 ° relative to each other. Both systems are corrosion resistant, easy to assemble and flexible.

Around the entire perimeter of the small arena there is a balcony, from which a panorama of the complex and the reservoir opens. All entrance groups of the balcony are made of window and door systems alt=W72 with a multi-chamber thermal break 34 mm wide and additional insulating foam inserts. The system can accommodate infills up to 50 mm, which allows achieving thermal insulation of more than 1.0 m2∙ ° С / W and sound insulation up to 43 dB.

Minsk water park "Lebyazhy": a new look at the classics

For the translucent facade of the Lebyazhy water park, created in 2014, the classic version of the facade system was also used ALT F50 … However, the new alt=" F50 series was used here, in which the visible width of the profiles along the facade is 60 mm (in the standard system - 50 mm), the thickness of the filling is 58 mm. A feature of the system is also that the decorative cover horizontally is made in the form of a volumetric drainage profile, and a reinforcing profile is installed along the entire length of the crossbar. The combined support pad alt=" F50 is designed for heavy infills weighing up to 500 kg, and the windows in the facades are opened using hidden chain drives.

A feature of the facility, like all water parks and swimming pools, is the increased temperature and humidity inside the structure, as well as salt and chlorine vapors. The thermal insulator made of foam material allowed to fulfill the technical conditions for the profile group. The wider front profile made it possible to hide the edge zone of the glass unit, the temperature of which is much lower than other parts of the structure.

Heavy horizontal double-glazed windows with a length of about 3 m create an additional load on the girder profiles, therefore, special reinforced rusks were used to attach the girder to the pillar on the facade. To increase the inertial characteristics, an additional reinforcing profile was installed in the bolt chamber (the total moment of inertia of the horizontal profile is more than 130 cm4), a combination of hinged pads was used to transfer the load from the filling weight.

In order to exclude corrosion and destruction of the coating, before applying the paint, the aluminum profiles underwent additional preparation - preliminary technical anodizing with a depth of 5–10 µm. Integration of the actuators into the interior of the structure ensured a coherent façade and minimized the effects of salt fumes on the chain and other metal parts.

The popularity of translucent facades is growing. The possibilities of aluminum profile systems used for their construction are also expanding. Proof of this is the continuous improvement of the alt=F50 system offered by Alutech LLC. Thanks to various modifications of this system, new objects with interesting architecture and high technical characteristics appear every year.
