Therefore, one of the most rational ways to protect building facades from heat loss is the option of external insulation by the so-called "wet" method with a thin plaster layer and simultaneous decorative finishing of the external walls.

Knauf, a world-renowned manufacturer of complete systems, offers on the Russian construction market the sets of exterior insulation of buildings that have already received widespread recognition - Knauf-Warm Wall I and Knauf-Warm Wall II … In the KNAUF-Warm Wall I system, polystyrene foam boards are used as a heater, and in the Knauf-Warm Wall II system, mineral wool boards are used.

1. Bearing wall (building base)

2. Dowel for fixing insulation plates

3. Adhesive layer (Knauf-Sevener)

4. Insulation (expanded polystyrene or mineral wool)

5. Protective layer (KNAUF-Sevener) reinforced with glass mesh

6. Primer Knauf-Izogrund

7. Decorative and protective layer (KNAUF-Diamant)

8. Plinth support profile

How does this system work? Insulation is glued to the pre-cleaned base using a KNAUF-Sevener plaster-adhesive mixture and additionally fixed with disc dowels. Then a protective layer of KNAUF-Sevener mixture, reinforced with fiberglass mesh, is applied, on which a protective and decorative layer of Knauf-Diamant plaster is applied after priming.

The principle of operation does not differ from similar systems, however, Knauf pays great attention to issues of durability and manufacturability. For example, in the KNAUF-Teplaya stena system, specially developed dry mixes are used, which have the necessary set of characteristics, taking into account the field of application and operational reliability. The technological advantage is the fact that the mixtures can be applied both manually and mechanically, for example, using Knauf PFT plastering machines. This significantly increases the productivity of work and speeds up the delivery time of the object.

Mineral wool and expanded polystyrene are comparable materials in terms of their thermal characteristics, therefore Knauf offers to use any of these types of insulation in its systems. The company produces polystyrene foam boards for building insulation - KNAUF Therm Facade (size 1200 * 1000, thickness 50, 100, 150, 200 mm).

Quality and durability criteria have always played a leading role in construction, and today they are the most acute. In Russia at the end of the 90s of the 20th century, field tests of the first insulation systems that appeared on the domestic market were carried out. They changed the previously existing categorical opinion about expanded polystyrene as a very fire hazardous material that has no place in construction. As early as February 2005, the system Knauf-Warm wall with expanded polystyrene insulation passed the next fire tests in accordance with the specified GOST and, as a result, confirmed the assigned fire hazard class K0.

In conclusion, it should be noted that KNAUF offered the consumer a full-fledged facade system, which implies the consistency of all materials and their "work" as a whole. The suitability of the KNAUF-Teplaya stena systems for use in construction on the territory of Russia is confirmed by the conducted fire tests and the "Technical Certificate"; an album of working drawings for the structure has also been developed.

In addition, all the basic materials (dry mixes and expanded polystyrene) used in the Knauf-Teplaya stena systems are produced in Russia, which, in turn, allows Knauf to offer the consumer materials of traditionally high quality at an affordable price.

The company's specialists provide qualified consultations on the use of products not only in the company's office, but also conduct field consultations and demonstrations at the facilities, and also provide technical support for projects. In addition, everyone can receive training on the use and installation of the system at the Knauf Training Center.
