As we have already reported, the work of "TPO Reserve" was recognized as the best in the competition for the design of the new building of the Olympic Committee (see the detailed story about the winning project). The jury selected the winner from seven qualifying finalists. The functionality of the building, relevance to the theme, relevance in the context of the prevailing urban fabric, and the economic component were taken into account. We present the projects of six finalists, two of whom (the workshop "Evgeny Gerasimov and Partners" and the Bureau "Tsimailo, Lyashenko and Partners") were in the top three and lost by a narrow margin. The old ROC building, built in 1978 for the 1980 Olympics, is planned to be demolished at the end of 2015, and a new building to be built within two to three years at the expense of an investor who will receive half of the office space, however, the investor has not yet been found.

The authors were inspired by the ancient stadiums, where the first Olympic competitions were held - therefore, the strictly symmetrical outline of the building coincides with the plan of the Roman circus: straight longitudinal walls and rounded ends. The central entrance is accentuated by a covered avant-plaza. The architects made the facade "pulsating" - a rhythmic pattern sets it in motion, personifying the dynamism of sports. The facade also contains antique motifs; for the cladding, the authors suggested using natural stone; natural materials are also planned for the decoration of the interiors.

The image of a classic stadium is also recreated here: Tsimailo and Lyashenko interpret the office of the Olympic Committee as an oval building with an inner courtyard from which the main entrance is arranged; the courtyard can be accessed through the arch from the side of Novoluzhnetskiy passage. The amphitheater was formed by reducing the area of the floors upwards. The facade is decorated with five tiers of arches, uniting two floors. The internal facade, as opposed to the monumental external, is as lightweight and transparent as possible.

The architects of "Meganom" continue in their project the idea of creating "Ports of the Future", which formed the basis of their

a competitive concept for the development of coastal areas of the Moscow River. So, the Olympic port appears on the coastal territory. The main emphasis is placed on the interior space of the building, which is open to views due to the fact that the site is located on a low bank.

In the BRT RUS project, the Olympic symbols have found a large-scale reflection. Five atriums of the building form five rings on its roof - the main Olympic attribute. Atriums play not only a conceptual role, but also provide daylight to every office space. An innovative approach to building architecture is combined with the use of economical and durable materials - concrete, steel and composites.

Visually, the complex is divided into two blocks: the Olympic Committee block and the office block. They are connected by a common roof and a pedestrian area at ground level. The building turned out to be monumental, in the spirit of the Luzhniki architectural ensemble. The sports theme is supported both in the interiors and on the facade of the building. Here, on the stone pylons, you can see relief images of ancient athletes running.

The design solution is based on an effective layout of premises, a simple constructive scheme and an original facade system. The open atrium inside the building allows not only to provide maximum illumination of the offices, but also forms a public office space. The dynamic image of the building is created through the use of a kinetic facade, the movable plates of which react to the wind, creating a unique pattern each time.
