The continuation of a large-scale reconstruction, designed to return the port area to the city and connect the historic center with the limfjord, includes the area around the Coop Himmelb (l) au House of Music. Besides C. F. Møller Landscape was contacted by the engineering firm COWI and lighting was provided by ÅF Hansen & Henneberg.

In the first phase, the concept of an urban promenade with fragments of green areas was supported and continued. The total area of the renovated territory is about 170,000 m2. As the main motive, the architects chose a combination of various natural landscapes that are characteristic of these places: a flat, in some places flooded, coastline and hills of the dune zone.
The role of "dunes" is played by the House of Music and the university buildings adjacent to it, and a complex system of cobbled grounds that collect scattered buildings into a single composition becomes the "shore". The platforms gradually descend to the embankment, forming comfortable recreation areas protected from the wind on the steps and ledges. The architects chose the simplest materials, even "rough" ones: asphalt, concrete (details were poured on the spot) and wood. Only for a separate rectangular "area" around the House of Music were selected slabs of more "subtle" processing, thus further emphasizing the importance of the object.
The association with a swampy lowland is intended to be supported by green areas planted with native grasses, shrubs and small trees. It is quite logical that the entire system of sites in this context also protects coastal buildings from possible flooding. By combining rootedness in the natural landscape with the hardened industrial style characteristic of the port, the architects created not just another public space, but set a new level of relations between the city and the fjord.
