On Saturday, June 18, the NTV channel aired the program "Kvartirny Vopros" "Transparent Living Room". In this project to remodel an ordinary Moscow apartment in an old building, the architect used Lumon frameless glazing.
Dark cramped living room
Initially, the frame is an ordinary, cramped and dark apartment in a typical building on the outskirts of Moscow. A small room with an area of about 15 square meters is overloaded with furniture and things. And there is an explanation for this: the whole active life of the family takes place in this living room. Here they work and play music, relax after a working day, receive guests. The room opens onto a small balcony, on which many things are stored, which are impossible to part with. Storage balcony - as many homeowners know! In addition, the balcony faces the north side of the house. The apartment owners complain about the lack of light.
Architect Mikhail Novinsky proposed his vision for solving all the problems in the “Housing Issue” project.
The idea of "Transparent living room"
In this project of Mikhail, the main leitmotif is light. It does not go, but pours and streams from the window, from the lamps and multiplies in the mirrors, is reflected from the white background.
That is why Mikhail chose the Finnish Lumon glazing. It transmits light as much as possible through the balcony opening. It does not hide the place on a small balcony and opens comfortably. In addition, panoramic glazing opens up a wonderful perspective of the Moscow Region forests.
Lumon for "Housing issue"
The management of the company gladly responded to the proposal of the producers of the "Kvartirny Vopros" to participate in the project and invited the LUM STYLE company to work at the partner's facility. Specialists from Lumon JSC and LUM STYLE (link is external) went to the site for measurements, but faced the problem of a weathered concrete slab that could not withstand the load of the glazing. But this problem has been successfully resolved.
LUM STYLE engineers reinforced and reinforced the weathered ceiling slab of a far from new home before installing frameless glazing. LUM STYLE specialists have sufficient qualifications and experience to solve the problem of a badly collapsed slab serving as a support for glazing fastening.
For this project, Lumon AS provided glazing from the Kouvola plant as soon as possible. LUM STYLE also performed work on strengthening the slab and installing Finnish glazing accurately, quickly, without debris and dust, on time, which is very important for any project, especially for a television project. Now the glazing will last a long time.
