The Eco_tektonika festival this year was held on July 2 and 3 in the Yasno Pole eco-park. Its organizers aimed not only to demonstrate the latest achievements in the field of "green" architecture and construction, but also to continue the formation of a value system based on respect for the environment. The guests of the festival were able to take part not only in the entertainment, but also in the educational program. Among the invited experts were representatives of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the Passive House Institute, the Holzer Center for Permaculture in Russia and other large organizations.
Festival visitors were also able to appreciate the work of the participants of the Green Architecture Summer School, which took place in the eco-park at the end of June: the participants created eight installations on the territory of the park reflecting the theme of sustainable development.
The first day of the festival ended with the awarding of the laureates of the National Prize in the field of ecological architecture and construction "Eco_tectonics 2016". This year, the competition received 166 applications. According to the organizers, the quality of applications has increased significantly compared to last year's competition. The presented projects demonstrated a wide range of green solutions and technologies, which allows us to hope for the growth of popularity and development of eco-architecture in Russia.
Projects were evaluated in five main categories: Housing, Commercial and Public Buildings, Open Public Spaces and Common Areas, Interior, and Student Project. We present the winners in each of them.

In addition to the winners in the nominations, the winners of the Grand Prix were selected. The first, second and third places in terms of the total number of points scored were taken by projects: the Bullbridge urban-type shopping and entertainment center, the Portal pier on the Soiva River and the Mechta square.
