The Edge office building is located in the Zuidas business district; its total area is 40,000 m2. The architects worked in collaboration with the Change Management Department of consulting and auditing firm Deloitte to ensure that the new building not only fits the owner's current needs, but also adapts to future changes.

An atrium sits in the center of the building, with its high-transparency glass north wall offering spectacular views of the city, and according to research conducted since the end of The Edge, jobs there are the most popular. They are in demand - that is, they are chosen from all those offered, because jobs in this office building are not assigned to specific people. Many Deloitte employees are out of the office at one time or another, in meetings or working from home altogether, so the company does not need as many desks as it does staff. As a result, the building is smaller than it could have been, and space for socializing, meeting and relaxing takes up 25% of the floor space - as opposed to 10% in a typical modern office.

Deloitte employees can choose, according to the principle of activity-based working, what space they need to complete a particular task, from concentrated work alone to eating. At their service are "booths", "concentration rooms", tables for sitting or standing work, places on the balconies of the atrium and in it.

Each employee has an application installed on their smartphone that helps to find a place in an underground garage or a free desk, not to get lost in a building or quickly find the right colleague; it also allows you to set a comfortable level of illumination and temperature in the interior, report a malfunction to the technical service and even remember which coffee the smartphone owner prefers. At the same time, a computer system works in the building, monitoring everything that happens there - right down to a burned out light bulb or a printer that runs out of paper.

The authors of the project paid considerable attention to the "green" elements. So, the building is thoughtfully oriented to the cardinal points, and on the sunniest, southern facade, both solar panels (they are also on the roof) and blinds are installed, while the northern facade is transparent, but thickened, which protects the interior from highway noise. 30,000 sensors control LED lights so that no energy is wasted on illumination of empty spaces. Temperature and humidity levels are also monitored. Rainwater is collected and used, there are two geothermal wells with a depth of 129 m, an "ecological corridor" has been created next to the building, allowing animals to safely cross the highway.
