The restaurant complex "Lev Golitsyn" was built on the left bank of the Don River, in the suburb of Rostov-on-Don - this is one of the most picturesque corners in the vicinity of the city. Several years ago, the Golitsyn Estate restaurant was opened here, named after the famous family of Russian princes Golitsyn. The "estate" is designed in the form of a classic noble mansion of the 19th century. The restaurant "Lev Golitsyn" looks quite different. It became a continuation of the manor complex, but its architects decided to make it more modern and minimalist.
The brick buildings of the restaurant complex form a large enclosed courtyard. The main two-story volume faces the river. It was the river that determined the character of the architecture of the main facade of the restaurant with large panoramic windows. Glazing occupies most of the first and second floors, which allows visitors to freely enjoy the Don landscapes. An open summer terrace on the second floor serves the same purpose. From it you can see not only the river, but also the city located on the right bank. The almost completely transparent wall is supported by a stone plinth and massive red brick columns at the bottom of the building. All courtyard facades are made of the same brick. The uneven masonry and the very texture of hand-molded bricks - rough and voluminous - make it possible to forget that the complex was erected today and refer to the old red-brick buildings characteristic of the region.
For the decoration of the buildings, the brick of local production was used, created from the varieties of clay mined in the Rostov region. Brick production under the Donskiye Zori trademark was launched here in 2009. The first collection with which the company entered the market was the Stanitsa collection. Hand-molded brick "Stepnoy" immediately became one of the most popular series in this collection and is still in great demand. It got its name from the village of Stepnoy in the Aksai region, between Novocherkassk and Rostov-on-Don. The convenient size of the domestic format 250x120x65 mm, classic color, high quality, durability and affordable price made the Stepnoy brick an ideal solution for the Lev Golitsyn restaurant complex. For the cladding, a monochromatic red brick of this series was chosen, which emphasized the architectural design.
Brickwork is no less actively used in the interiors of the restaurant. The main building has three halls. On the ground floor, there is a VIP room with a soft sofa area and a main dining room with classic manor furniture, old photographs and authentic décor elements. From it you can go to the river, on the bank of which a green park is laid out, or to the courtyard, where a comfortable space for rest and communication has also been created. The third hall, designed in the same style, is located on the second floor. In warmer months, it can be expanded with a terrace. The walls in all the halls are brick. And everywhere, as well as on the outer walls, there is decorative masonry with volumetric patterns created using various methods of binding bricks.
Thus, largely due to the finishing materials, their characteristics and appearance are not inferior to the best imported samples, the authors of the project managed to create a complete image of the building, inviting its visitors to plunge into the atmosphere of the century before last.
