Already the fourth pavilion of this program is located in Queen Victoria Gardens park, next to major museums and memorials (Archi.ru has already written in more detail about the circumstances of its appearance). It will become a platform for discussions about society and the city, as well as concerts, yoga classes, etc. It will stay in the park for almost the entire spring-summer (although according to the actual calendar - autumn-winter) - until February 4, 2018. After that, like three pavilions before it, MPavilion 2017 will be located in one of the points of the center of Melbourne.

The building received two blocks of spectator seats: the larger one is dug into the soil and planted with 12 species of native plants on the outside, the smaller one can be rotated around the axis, turning it into a platform or a stage, depending on the needs of the event organizers.

The most visible part of the building is the roof sheathed with aluminum sheets (19 mx 19 m). With a thickness of 2 meters, it hides in itself all the necessary infrastructure, including a lighting system with a "recreational and artistic" function. Lighting was handled by bluebottle studio, landscape design - Tract.

This is OMA's first completed Australian project; partners Rem Koolhaas and David Janotten were responsible for it.
