Hotel Plesnik is located in the Logarska Valley, a conservation area in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Enota architects were commissioned to rebuild the indoor and outdoor pool area into a spa, and in their project they took the main advantage of the hotel as a reference point - its picturesque location.
The organic-shaped indoor pool with arched windows overlooking the sunbathing terrace and the valley behind it was replaced with a circular relaxation space with a fireplace, and a Jacuzzi was placed next to it. The glazing has become panoramic, and behind the wooden terrace, an outdoor pool has been arranged, in which, when viewed from the spa center, the Alps are reflected: this has made the view even more spectacular.
In the outdoor pool, a round recreation area with a brazier was built, reminiscent of a similar one in the hotel's interior: this is how the contrast of the elements - fire and water - was added to the natural environment.
The curvilinear shapes of the pebbled interior partitions are "inherited" from the original building of the indoor pool. Among the eco-elements of the project is an outdoor pool water purification system using aquatic plants.
