We spoke in detail about the building of the Philharmonic, or the concert hall in the Zaryadye park, designed by TPO Reserve. The building has two modern concert halls - 1560 and 400 seats, and a recording studio. Depending on the performances, the transformer stage can move in different directions, and, if necessary, the seats can easily turn into standing ones. The Philharmonic space has improved acoustic and technical characteristics - 15,000 wooden panels will provide natural reflection of sound waves; the acoustics were worked on by the Yasuhisa Toyota company. A unique 78-register organ was designed and manufactured especially for the concert hall.
One of the features of the new building is the "glass crust", a large-scale translucent structure without enclosing walls, a climatic attraction developed by the consortium of the architectural company Diller Scofidio + Renfro in cooperation with Transsolar. Two walls of the concert hall are completely deepened into an artificial hill, designed to remind of the Pskov Hill, which once existed in this place, the eastern wall is entirely glass, and everything was designed so that only a thin glass barrier remained between the outer promenade and the foyer of the Philharmonic. The relatively small plane of the southern facade is given to a multimedia screen framed by natural limestone, facing another amphitheater built into the hill.
In order to ensure the maximum level of comfort, thermal insulation and fire safety in the premises, during the construction, environmentally friendly solutions from stone wool, made on the basis of natural stone, were used.
The engineering systems of the building are protected by ROCKWOOL 100 roll-wound cylinders. The technology of their manufacture ensures the same density of heat flux through the wall of the product and allows you to accurately calculate and select the optimal cylinder thickness for pipeline insulation. This is achieved through the method of winding layers of stone wool. The fibers have the same arrangement along the entire circumference of the cylinder, perpendicular to the direction of the heat flow. And the foil on the surface of the cylinders improves their thermal insulation properties and protects them from moisture. For the insulation of the building facades, the designers also chose ROCKWOOL solutions from non-combustible stone wool, which will ensure the fire safety of the new building.
Outside, the building of the Philharmonic is almost ready; recently it was temporarily opened to host the Moscow Urban Forum. It is now closed again for the latest improvements and tweaks. The opening and the first concert at the Zaryadye Park Philharmonic is planned to be held on City Day - September 8. It will be possible to get to the holiday by invitation cards, but the concert will be broadcast on the Internet and on television.
