The details of the new season and the basic requirements for the projects have become known. The competition, which has rightfully earned worldwide recognition, is a platform where professionals in the field of architecture and design, as well as students of specialized universities under the age of 40, have the opportunity to prove themselves by offering their own conceptual, innovative and environmentally friendly solutions for creating the bathroom of the future. From the first season in 2004 competition jumpthegap® collaborates with the design center BCD Barcelona Design Center … During this time, more than 20 600 people from 134 countries of the world took part in it.
At the event that launched the new season of the competition, the names of the jury members were announced. The eminent Brazilian architect became the president of the panel of judges Rui Otake … In the format jumpthegap® (talk) with a lecture “Interior architecture. Fulfillment of dreams, pursuit of happiness and creation of new energy”was presented by the architect Boris Voskoboinikov, head of the Moscow bureau VOX Architects. Upon its completion, guests had the opportunity to visit a special audio-visual exhibition Next Bath Experience … The full version of this exhibition was presented last fall at the Design Museum in Barcelona and highlighted the 5 main themes covered in the projects of the seven seasons of the jumpthegap® competition. All works are grouped in accordance with the stated idea in order to demonstrate to the visitors the not so distant and unusual future of the bathroom.
Jury
From the very beginning, the jury of the competition jumpthegap® renowned for its relevance, bringing together renowned design and architecture professionals. This season, the jury will be chaired by a recognized Brazilian architect Rui Otake … Other members of the jury are reputable professionals from around the world: Emilio Cabrero (Mexico), Director of Mexico City World Design Capital 2018 and Mexico City Design Week; Murat Tabanlioglu (Turkey), founder of the Tabanlıoğlu Architects bureau, teacher, lecturer and project curator; Dorota Coziara (Italy) designer, artist and project curator; Boris Voskoboinikov (Russia), head and chief architect of VOX Architects bureau, winner of Russian and international competitions; Jose Congost (Spain), Director of Roca Design Center and Isabel Roig (Spain), CEO of BCD (Barcelona Design Center) and former President of BEDA (Bureau of European Design Associations).
We Are Water Foundation Special Category Winners Will Be Decided Javier Torras (Spain), Director of the We Are Water Foundation; Deborah Seward (USA), Director of the United Nations Information Center and Carlo Ratti (Italy), architect, designer, MIT lecturer and founding partner of Carlo Ratti Associati, an innovation and international design practice.

www.jumpthegap.net until March 27, 2019. The deadline for submission of works is April 25. The project review period will begin in May, as soon as all entries are received, and in June the jury will select the finalists. The awards ceremony, to which the finalists of the competition from all over the world will be invited, will take place on 10 October at the Design Museum in Barcelona.
Categories and prizes
The winners are determined in three nominations: in the categories for professionals and students, the prize amount is 10.000€ in each of the categories; the We Are Water Foundation's special award for innovative sustainable solutions is 6.000€.
