ArchYouth-2020 - the third season of the All-Russian architectural competition and educational project, which is held among Russian students and graduates of architecture and construction colleges and universities. Within the framework of ArchYouth a series of training seminars is held, at which, together with invited experts, students understand architectural glass, double-glazed windows, profile systems. Experts from Pilkington Glass, STiS, SP Glass, Schueco, Deceuninck Rus - companies with a worldwide reputation that are engaged in the production and supply of high-tech architectural glass and components for facades. Students consolidate the knowledge gained in practice: during the ArchYouth season, they participate in an architectural project competition with an emphasis on energy-efficient glazing, which ends with the final defense of projects in front of a competent jury.
The third season was attended by 554 young architects - students and graduates of architectural and construction colleges and universities from Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova and China. Participants from 66 cities, 57 universities and 16 colleges presented their projects. ArchYouth-2020 has turned from a local closed competition into an international one, securing its status as one of the largest competitions held among young architects.
18 projects (9 full-time and 9 correspondence) that scored the most points during the semifinals reached the final of the competition, which ended the ArchYouth-2020 season on February 17. The competition was held in three categories "College Students", "University Students", "Graduates". In addition to the architectural goals, all the finalists coped with the most difficult task: they selected the glazing options for the objects, taking into account the natural and climatic conditions and energy efficiency requirements at the proposed construction site.
The final defense of face-to-face projects took place on February 17 at Imperia Sky Loft, located on the 43rd floor of the Empire Tower in Moscow City. “It is no coincidence that we chose this place for the final,” says Konstantin Kukhtov, founder and ideological inspirer of Youth in Architecture. - Moscow City is the most outstanding architectural dominant of modern Moscow. Skyscrapers, during the construction of which the latest technologies in the field of facade glazing were used, are organically intertwined with the concept of the competition, the main goal of which is to increase the level of knowledge of future architects in the field of energy-efficient glazing."
