In the near future, a standard for roof greening should appear in Russia. This was stated by the deputy of the Moscow City Duma, the president of MGSU Professor Valery Telichenko. The document will be advisory in nature, but at the same time residents of houses with "green roofs" will be able to rely on it in the event of leaks and other roof malfunctions.
Green Roofs are not just a decoration of cities; there is an economic sense in their arrangement and operation, not to mention environmental. Greening roofs reduces the negative effects of sunlight, purifies rainwater and air.
In the heat, the roofs get very hot. An ordinary roof in an especially hot summer can warm up to a temperature of 80 ° C, and a "green" one - only up to 30. Moreover, roofs with greenery, due to the ability of the vegetation cover to reflect the sun's rays in summer, can reduce the air temperature by 2 ° C. All this, according to the design and construction company Swinerton (USA), can reduce air conditioning costs by 25% and thereby save huge money.
Plants of "green roofs" as natural sorbents absorb harmful dissolved impurities in rainwater, and the soil absorbs a significant part of precipitation and thereby reduces the load on storm sewers. They also absorb air pollutants, and, of course, like all plant organisms, they convert carbon dioxide into oxygen using photosynthesis.
A green roof is more profitable than conventional roofing in the long term.
The new standard should make life easier for designers, builders and property managers. In the meantime, the most detailed regulatory document governing the requirements for elements and structural solutions of the roof is "Recommendations for the design of landscaping and improvement of roofs of residential and public buildings and other artificial foundations." The document was developed by Mosproekt OJSC and put into effect back in 2000.
In accordance with this and other standards, design solutions for "green roofs" are created and offered to designers, including those using advanced BIM-modeling technologies.
LLC PENOPLEX SPb has developed a number of BIM-models of the operating roof using high-performance materials: PENOPLEX® thermal insulation made of extruded polystyrene foam and waterproofing made of PLASTFOIL® polymer membrane. By the way, the aforementioned "Recommendations for the design of landscaping and improvement of roofs of residential and public buildings and other artificial foundations" prescribe to provide for thermal insulation of the inversion operated roof only from plate extruded polystyrene foam, characterized by low water absorption, which excludes the possibility of moisture and freezing during operation.
BIM models of PENOPLEX SPb LLC can be downloaded from the official website of the company, they are also posted on the BIMLIB Library portal and other platforms for downloading BIM models.
