Upcycle Studios - 20 three-story townhouses in the popular new residential area of Erestad South. Architects expect residents to choose the most convenient way to use their home. Each has an area of about 180 m2, there are four bedrooms and a heated garage. Owners can take it entirely, rent out half of it as a separate apartment - for a long time or through Airbnb. A part of the house can be used as an office or workshop by a self-employed entrepreneur or freelancer in the creative profession. The authors of the project see this approach as a reflection of the sharing economy, the economy of sharing.

On the same principle, they are engaged in the recycling of materials (upcycling). Denmark is very careful about saving resources and protecting the environment, however, 11.7 million tons of construction waste are produced there annually. According to Lendager Group, this in itself is a significant resource. So, their townhouses are built from 1,400 tons of high-strength concrete - waste from the construction of the Copenhagen metro. Wood for facades, walls and floors - "cuttings" provided by the wood flooring manufacturer Dinesen. 75% of the window sashes, which form like a patchwork glazing, are taken from abandoned houses in the North Jutland region.

The territory where Upcycle Studios is located is built up with perimeter blocks, that is, all houses there have a main and courtyard facades. Townhouses are an exception there: both of their facades face the streets. The main one is with the aforementioned patchwork glazing and a wooden top. Rear - with a smaller, but the same glass surface, wood and concrete walls separating the house from the house. The location of the townhouses at an angle to the rectangular grid of streets gives the complex a dynamic, especially when viewed in perspective. Each dwelling has a roof terrace, and solar panels are installed on the roof. Plans can be viewed
