Schörghuber (Hörmann's partner) supplied more than 700 doors for the Hamburg Philharmonic Elbphilarmonie.
Such a large number is explained, first of all, by the need for sound insulation, which is not surprising. In a concert hall, many sounds arise that should remain in their premises, that is, if possible, not a single concert sound should go outside the hall. For this, both the small and large halls are equipped with Schörghuber soundproof doors. The doors installed in the small hall have passed the Schörghuber examination: they are detailed, match the wall cladding, and are made with a specially milled and therefore sound-absorbing surface.

Sound insulation also plays an important role in the hotel space. All guest rooms are fitted with Schörghuber soundproof doors. In addition, there are several doors that must meet special requirements. For example, niche doors divide the backstage corridors into fire zones. In the corridors along the outer façade, there are full-floor fire doors equipped with built-in wickets, which in turn are an escape solution. Finally, floor-height fire doors have been installed at various entrances to the concert halls.
