Petrovsky Kvartal was built almost in the center of Petrovsky Island, on the territory that used to belong to the Almaz shipyard. In recent years, the island has confidently turned from a historically industrial zone into a stronghold of business-class real estate: water and greenery, the proximity of the city center and the new Betancourt bridge with an exit to the WHSD make it an attractive place to live. As on Krestovsky Island, the largest architectural bureaus of the city are celebrated here, but the development reflects the changing tastes of the buyer: the complexes grow rather laconic, the emphasis is on material, quality of workmanship and a comfortable environment.

Against the background of recent events, architects are increasingly talking about the importance of balconies and the need to return them to their true purpose - access to fresh air and connection with the world outside the apartment. Bureau "Evgeny Gerasimov and Partners" for a residential complex on the banks of the Malaya Neva took advantage of the window model

VELUX Cabrio, which allows you to turn the attic into a small terrace with a single movement of the hand.

"Petrovsky Kvartal" consists of three main volumes: a closed urban block with a view arch opens onto the Malaya Neva, four linear sections on Petrovsky Prospekt, and between them there is a more intimate single house and a kindergarten. All buildings are united by material, colors, and terraced top floors. At the same time, each has individual characteristics.

Thus, the northern facade of the linear building is distinguished by a pitched roof with lucarnes. In addition to classic roof windows, a unique design is installed here.

VELUX Cabrio: in the closed position it looks like two ordinary windows located one above the other, and when open it is a real balcony. Thanks to this, the attic becomes more spacious and filled with daylight, but most importantly, it allows you to enjoy the views from the windows and spend time in the fresh air. Turning a window into a balcony takes seconds: you just need to lift the upper section and push the lower one forward. What is more important - such a space cannot be turned into a storage place, so the function of the balcony is guaranteed to be preserved.

Terraces, balconies and the composition of the entire complex are a tribute to the location: thanks to the solutions listed above, most of the apartments offer a view of the water, without which it is impossible to imagine St. Petersburg. And the pitched roof and hatchways, as well as the material - stone and terracotta panels, the combination of which is designed to resemble brickwork, and decorative metal lattices hiding staircases - is a curtsey towards the historical buildings of Vasilyevsky Island and the Petrogradskaya side, to which from the "Petrovsky Quarter" within reach. In the building from the side of the avenue, blocks of staircase and elevator nodes divide the extended house into narrow sections, and the high-rise technical floors resemble chimneys, which is why the building also acquires a Dutch sound. Which is quite appropriate if we recall the architectural preferences of the founder of the city on the Neva.
