Schaan, Liechtenstein - June 18, 2020 - You are the missing link. Under this slogan, five global players in the construction industry invite entrepreneurs from all over the world to submit their innovative construction solutions to the court in the framework of the annual Construction Startup Competition. Startups wishing to play a decisive role in transforming the construction industry must submit their projects to the jury no later than July 26, 2020.

Hilti, CEMEX Ventures, Ferrovial, VINCI Group's Leonard and NOVA by Saint-Gobain team up to host the 2020 Construction Startup Competition. The participation of such well-known construction companies will give additional weight to startups that are disrupting the paradigm of one of the least digitized and most fragmented industries. They will pool their expertise and resources to drive startups, building on knowledge in infrastructure, materials and equipment, and other disciplines.

Winners will be judged across five areas to realize industry opportunities: smart and sustainable cities and buildings, digital solutions for project and workplace management, optimizing supply chain management, building using innovative materials or techniques, and optimizing productivity, efficiency and quality in daily project management.

Those interested in participating can submit their applications through the CEMEX Ventures website (https://www.cemexventures.com/startup-competition-2020/). After that, five organizing companies will consider all ideas and proposals and select the most interesting ones. The most promising startups will receive new opportunities - from seminars to the implementation of pilot projects or investments. This year's competition finalists will be invited to Chicago to present their solutions to an audience of global leaders in innovation, investment and construction on December 2-3, 2020.

The global presence of the five competition host companies allows startups from anywhere in the world to enter the competition, while also giving them the opportunity to scale and expand their business to new geographic markets. The positions these five leaders occupy in the construction value chain provide participants with broad awareness of the challenges facing the industry as well as access to an active portfolio of important contacts. These circumstances help build relationships with new investors and innovation-driven companies. In addition, the competition provides participants with the opportunity to test and implement their solutions in any of the five organizing companies. The huge interest in the previous stages of the competition, where the number of applicants is growing from year to year, helped to develop the ecosystem to more than 1000 startups from 80 countries specializing in the construction industry. This year's Construction Startup Competition aims to complete the formation of a vision for new solutions in the industry, promote the efficient use of investment opportunities, and create a community of players focused on solving the problems of the industry from an innovative, technological and sustainable development point of view.
