In 2019, the Kalina Mall, the largest trade and exhibition center in the city, was opened in Vladivostok. This is the first conceptual object in the Far East, developed taking into account the advanced market trends. On an area of 95 thousand square meters there are retail chains, an 8-screen cinema, a singing fountain, many restaurants and a multi-level parking lot.
The project was developed by specialists from the Perspektiva integrated design bureau. The construction of the facility, which has no analogues, lasted three years and required non-standard and original solutions. For example, real Jurassic marble, which is about 140 million years old, was used for flooring.
The designers of the project assigned a special role to the facade coating. Luxurious The Kalina Mall style is emphasized by the volumetric Beak-type cassettes made of 3 and 2 mm aluminum by GRADAS. The diagonal edges of the panels create the unique character of the building, giving birth to associations with the beaks (or wingspan?) of Vladivostok gulls, and with the wide waves of the sea surf of the Golden Horn Bay, on the shore of which there is a shopping center.
The unusual structure of the facade made it possible to harmoniously fit the complex into the terrain of the coastal strip with a view of the Golden Horn Bay.
