Visitors to YugBuild, the largest exhibition of finishing and building materials, engineering equipment and architectural projects in the South of Russia, will receive a lot of surprises from its general sponsor - Knauf: new products and systems, new technologies, including digital ones. The main event should be the presentation of the world's first KNAUF simulator for teaching the practice of dry construction in virtual space, which will be publicly presented for the first time at YugBuild. The exhibition starts at the Ekpograd Yug Exhibition Center on February 24.
“YugBuild is of particular importance to us, we have been supporting it for many years not only with our sponsorship, but also with the demonstration of new products and the most advanced achievements of Knauf in Russia,” says Sergei Bondarenko, Director of the Southern Sales Directorate of Knauf.
Knauf VR simulator at YugBuild
Knauf will present several of its new developments at YugBuild at once, for example, Knauf polyurethane foam and new Knauf sheets (GSP-R) 15 mm thick for ceilings that are mechanically putty.
The central event of the exhibition should be the first open presentation The VR-simulator KNAUF for dry construction, which has no analogues in the world, was developed by the Russian Academy of Knauf and domestic programmers. Any visitor to YugBuild will be able to try to assemble a partition in a virtual space wearing a VR-helmet and picking up special controllers.
The simulator allows you to practice the skills of installing drywall partitions outside the workshop, providing a high level of realism and reliability of the work performed, which in turn improves the quality of training, reducing the cost of materials and tools.
The program includes two formats for installing partitions: training and exam. During the training, tips are provided on the installation technology, the choice of tools and the sequence of work. In the exam mode, you need to assemble the partition completely yourself, and the program will take into account the number of mistakes made and generate a detailed report.
After the virtual world is completely created on a computer, augmented reality (AR) technologies look simpler, however, thanks to their wide range of applications, they are able to change the practice of design and construction work. Today AR is an important and useful technological trend that allows us to present projects in the field of engineering, design and construction as efficiently as possible, which is gradually becoming an integral part of our life.
Knauf will present the possibilities of AR-modeling in the field of design and construction at its stand together with its partner, a Skolkovo resident, BIMLIB
The concept of a "digital plant" KNAUF
The use of digital technologies for Knauf is not limited to the sphere of communication with clients and educational activities, they are already deeply integrated into production activities.
Dmitry Kolonistov, technical director of the KNAUF GIPS KUBAN enterprise, spoke about new technologies that allow to increase production efficiency, labor safety and quality of finished products: "Digitalization of production today is a real tool that allows you to increase the output of finished products, reduce scrap, reduce material consumption and improve equipment efficiency" …
On the way to full-scale implementation of the concept of a “digital factory”, the company has already made a number of confident steps.
The first of them is the equipping of workplaces of the plant for the production of Knauf sheets with industrial plates, thanks to which some of the processes were transferred from paper to digital format. The digitized instructions have turned out to be more visual and understandable, reduced the amount of visual information that is constantly in front of the operator's eyes. As a result, the employee is less tired and less likely to make a mistake.
The functionality of the tablet is constantly increasing. Using it together with special sensors allows diagnosing equipment almost without human intervention and sending information to a common server, where appropriate specialists, for example, mechanics, get access to it.
The factory is engaged in the development of application applications for the new tablet independently, which allows fine-tuning the operation of programs for the needs of the enterprise
The same approach is applied when implementing new projects. During the modernization of the line for the production of primers, the company's engineers have prepared a unique software product that allows you to carry out the entire technological process and monitor compliance with the recipe of products, almost completely eliminating the "human factor".
No less fundamental and promising is the use of the same industrial tablet to ensure industrial safety and labor protection of workers.
An OSH checklist has already been integrated into it. Quick and easy self-control (based on the principle of questioning in social networks) at the beginning of each shift allows you to remind the employee of the basic safety requirements and bring safe work techniques to automaticity.
In the near future, it is planned to install digital tags at hazardous production areas, warning workers of potential danger, as well as the use of special sensors to monitor the well-being of operators.
Already today, digital technologies allow factory workers to implement many really useful ideas.
