The Effenar Center was founded in the early 1970s and gained fame as a venue for concerts of various musical groups, mostly belonging to the subculture. In accordance with its focus, it was housed in a former weaving factory. Now MVRDV have developed a project, according to which a new building was built next to the old building, in which the performances of musicians will now take place.

The five-storey cubic volume almost completely occupies the concert hall, but there are also additional rooms there. The entire structure of the building is clearly reflected on the facade: glazing and light gray cladding panels hide the office and service spaces, the walls of the hall are painted in dark gray. The smaller rooms are accessed by external staircases enclosed in dark gray boxes. There is a basketball court on the roof, which brings the building closer to the settlement project developed by MVRDV in the late 1990s, which included the installation of tennis courts and football fields on the roofs of residential buildings.
