Architects, renowned for their social housing projects in Slovenia, faced a familiar challenge: it was necessary to build on a plot of land that stretched along the Stadium. Ladumega, a complex of 180 studio apartments - with a limited budget, construction time and energy consumption.

The Ofis workshop even exceeded the parameters set by the organizers of the competition: there will be 192 studios in two dormitory buildings, as well as lobbies and public spaces located on the ground floor. The condition of accessibility of the complex for the disabled was also fulfilled: 23 apartments on the first floors are designed for residents with disabilities.

Instead of fitting the two new buildings into the surrounding area, the architects re-created a whole piece of the street. The plot, 11 m wide and 200 m long, will run between the stadium and Route de Petit Pont, where tram lines will be laid by 2012. Along with the buildings of the hostel, two gardens will be laid out on this territory: one - between these structures, their entrances will face, the other - in its northern part.

Particular attention during the design was paid to the eastern facades of the hostel facing the street: they are slightly asymmetrically located deep loggias sheathed with bamboo; their sunscreens are also made from bamboo. This technique, often used by Ofis architects, made the façade dynamic and attractive, bringing the street space to life. The corridor windows overlook the western side of the building; they are also protected by bamboo screens, which not only block them from light, but also further isolate them from the stadium space.
