A school for 400 students will be built on the western outskirts of Minsk, where cottage buildings prevail. The only requirement that the customers presented to the future educational institution was its bright and innovative architectural solution, and if we also take into account that an "open field" was allocated for the construction of this building, it becomes obvious: the workshop "Speech Choban / Kuznetsov" received a full map -Blanche. And she willingly used this chance to create an extraordinary volume, designed to make the learning process interesting and diverse. The use of the latest “green” construction technologies and the careful use of resources were also one of the main tasks of the workshop.

It was very important for the architects to give the building a form that would become a logical and integral continuation of its function. Any school is a rigid functional scheme, which must include elementary, middle and senior classes, a library, a sports complex and a hall for school-wide events. The need to separate the educational and sports blocks, as well as junior and middle classes prompted the architects to have a three-part composition, and the desire to give the building a dynamic shape made them remember the image of a propeller or a boomerang with three "blades".

As you might guess, each of the "blades" has its own function: one block is completely reserved for secondary school classes, in the second, primary classes are adjacent to the dining room, playrooms and circles, and in the third there is a sports and gymnasium. At the same time, the central space of all educational blocks is planned to be turned into winter gardens, and the center of the entire layout will be the volume of the assembly hall on the first floor, which has a triangular shape in plan and the dining room on the second floor.

The "Boomerang" is covered by the architects with a "green" roof, with a central part entirely made of glass. The appearance of large atriums in the school guarantees maximum illumination of all its public areas and recreations, and the "green roof" helps the building not only dissolve in the surrounding landscape, but also provides a favorable microclimate in the building.

Thus, the school building itself will become a teaching aid for students - its orientation to the cardinal points, the use of "green" technologies and effective planning are designed to demonstrate in practice the basic principles of sustainable architecture to the younger generation. The coloristic solution of the educational institution will also become evident - in one of the options, which was ultimately approved by the customer, the architects suggested revealing the facades with colored glass, selecting the panels in such a way as to end up with a continuous spectrum. Among other options for decorating the school building were also considered white frosted glass, wood and metal panels "in gold". I must say that the slogan "Golden School" seemed very seductive to the customers, but the positive rainbow palette, which will also allow students to quickly navigate in similarly shaped buildings, turned out to be more attractive in the end. It is planned to make the outer walls of the assembly hall volume the same rainbow, but the gallery-bridges, with the help of which it is planned to connect different blocks at the level of the second floor, will be made of frosted glass - so they will look lighter in appearance and will be able to let in daylight into school corridors.

The architects plan to place a stadium, playground and greenhouse around the school building. Such an impressive infrastructure and the main volume of an unusual shape open up the most promising prospects for future students, and not only in a figurative, but also in a literal sense.
