The ROCKWOOL Russia Group held an annual press conference. This year, the leitmotif of the event was the topic of implementing measures to improve energy efficiency and reduce heat loss in buildings under construction, as well as those already built.
It is no secret that the issue of improving the energy efficiency of buildings today is quite acute. As a leader in stone wool solutions, ROCKWOOL has once again set out to raise awareness of this issue.
“Our country is lagging far behind in the implementation of energy efficiency policies, by about 20 years,” said Marina Potoker, CEO of ROCKWOOL Russia Group. - And if you do not take active steps, the lag will only get worse, and we all together will, in fact, throw money out the window. At the same time, we have a huge potential to reduce energy losses, first of all, due to the reconstruction of already constructed buildings, the potential of which, in terms of energy saving, is quite large. Under the current conditions, for the real introduction of energy efficiency classes for buildings, it is necessary to improve the regulatory framework: it is necessary to set real standards, from which the percentage of consumption must be reduced. Then the mechanism will work, and all this together will give an impetus to development”.
As part of the event, the guests were able to personally verify the existence of the voiced problems, having familiarized themselves with the thematic interactive exposition. A number of thermal imaging images were presented to their attention, showing the level of heat loss, both the most famous and typical buildings in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kazan, the reconstruction of which is the most popular and promising.
Presenting the results of the work of the ROCKWOOL Russia Group, Marina Potoker emphasized that 2014 was a rather successful year for the company. The sales volume of the Russian division showed a higher result compared to the previous year. In addition, a number of investment projects have been completed this year. Among them, the launch of the production of innovative insulation LIGHT BATTS SCANDIC at the plant in Vyborg, as well as slabs of double density stone wool at the plant in Troitsk, Chelyabinsk region.
