Low energy consumption, comfortable microclimate, competent sound insulation and original design are the key features of the Green Balance house. Over five years of operation, he proved that modern building technologies and materials can be affordable, economical and really effective.

The main technological solution of Green Balance was the use of thermal insulation: the walls and roof are insulated with stone wool slabs with a thickness of 150 mm and 350 mm, respectively. The house does not have central heating, a comfortable temperature is maintained due to competent thermal protection and the operation of an individual boiler room. The total area of the 4-storey building is 207.5 m2, residential - 131.1 m2… The house belongs to the energy efficiency class "A".

“Performing the calculations, we relied on domestic realities - climatic conditions, as well as modes of operation of specific structures and materials. This is very important, since sometimes decisions are simply adopted from Western countries that are developed in terms of energy efficiency, but they do not adapt to Russia in any way, - says Andrey Petrov, head of the ROCKWOOL Design Center. “It is imperative to take into account the specific features of our country, which was done in the Green Balance project.”

Five years of house operation allowed us to compare the design calculations with the actual indicators and draw the following conclusions:

  • Energy consumption averaged 55 kWh per m22 per year, which is 65% below the norm;
  • The total savings in energy costs - 183,960 rubles, and the total savings, taking into account climatic parameters and the rise in fuel prices, increased by about 12%;
  • Investments in the use of energy-saving technologies will pay off in less than nine years. The service life of the building is estimated at 75 years.

It is also important to note that over these five years, hundreds of architects and builders from leading companies in Russia and the CIS have visited the Green Balance house, several dozen journalists talked about the unusual project in their publications and TV programs, and the broadcast of the NTV Dachny Otvet channel took care of compliance the interior of the house to its environmentally friendly technical equipment. “In the Green Balance project, we wanted to demonstrate the huge potential for energy saving, to show the simplicity and efficiency of the applied technologies. 5 years of successful house operation, real energy savings, huge interest in the project from both the professional community and individual developers serve as the best evidence that the use of available energy-saving technologies is justified and in demand in private housing construction , - comments Andrey Petrov, head of the Design Center ROCKWOOL.

“We are happy that together with talented architects and ROCKWOOL technical support, we managed to create the house of our dreams,” the owners of the house, the Filin family, share their impressions.
