The building will be erected near the city center, in the reconstructed area of Saint-Roche. In the future, there will be 1,500 apartments and 50,000 m2 of commercial space, while Gotran has been entrusted with the first building plot. Its complex will include a business center, two hotels and apartments.
The complex volume of the building will be composed of "software" parts. The two-storey basement will contain a business center and a large restaurant, as well as the lobbies of both hotels (3 and 4 "stars", 70 and 100 rooms, respectively) and two halls of the residential sector. Above, the buildings of hotels will be located, the bends of which form a huge niche between themselves - the "city salon", a terrace open to the south. Above, on the volumes of the hotels, the "bridge" will rest - the residential part of the complex. The location of the apartments in the upper part of the complex (floors 7-10) is due to the architect's desire to use spectacular views. From the windows of the new housing it will be possible to see both the panorama of the southern region of Montpellier, facing the Mediterranean Sea, and the roofs of the old city, located to the north.
The facades of the complex will be faced with light metal panels, perforated and solid, some of which can be opened, giving the complex a dynamic look. In addition, the panels of the “salon” niche cladding will be covered with a holographic film: this will add color to the white building.
Construction is planned for 2012-2013.
