The venue for the XII Cities will be a center of experimental architecture created on the site of a livestock farm in the Zaoksky district of the Tula region: soon local cowsheds, granaries and silos will turn into creative workshops and exhibition galleries. The festival will begin on 23 July with lectures on wooden architecture and its constructive techniques, after which participants will begin designing objects right on the farm. They will build a rescue tower, a well, bridges over ravines, a cafe and a bathhouse on the water, a bus stop, an entrance sign, etc. - the lineup can even compete with Archstoyanie, starting a week later. By the way, after the end of the "Cities", which for the next season will probably be transferred to some new romantic place, the Archfarm will remain: its task is to become a permanent creative center for the study and implementation of wood architecture in Russian practice.

At the beginning of next week, on July 19, everyone who missed the final of the Archnovation competition in May will be able to watch the webcast of the awards ceremony. The competition was held in Nizhny Novgorod, and its motto was “sustainable architecture”. The residents of Nizhny Novgorod themselves, however, won only in the student nomination, while the main "elephants" were handed out to Muscovites.

On July 20, St. Petersburg will host the presentation of the summer issue of the Project Baltia magazine, which is dedicated to the typology of the courtyard. The head of Studio 44, Nikita Yavein, the author of the well-known atriums of the reconstructed General Staff Building, the Nevsky 38 business center, and others, will tell the guests about the architectural side of the problem. The lecture, presentation and its final concert will be held in the courtyard of the Museum of Urban Sculpture as part of the exhibition -festival "New Ideas for the City".

And in Moscow on the same day, lovers of historical walks in the center are invited to an excursion with the famous local historian Sergei Brel. The architecture of Solyanka, Yauzsky and Pokrovsky boulevards keeps curious stories about the enlightener Ivan Betsky, the famous noble families of the Goncharovs and Durasovs, Emperor Paul I, and others.
