The main goal of the All-Russian competition, held by the Center for Support of Youth Initiatives, the World of Youth organization and the Futurussia Skolkovo company, was the search for talented young architects. The participants had to choose one of the nine proposed directions and create objects in which they themselves would like to live, relax and work.
Correct and supplement
That is why some of the participants took as a basis for their projects already existing, well-known places or buildings that, in their opinion, require a radical alteration or significant improvement. For example, Anna Kravchenko, the winner of the "Student Residence" nomination, proposed a five-story building for the hostel of her own institute of the NSAA (that is, the Novosibirsk State Academy of Architecture and Art) and designed a residential complex in its place using energy-efficient technologies. According to the young aritector, in the current five-story building "there are not enough places even for students."
The winner in the nomination "Youth cultural and entertainment complex" Pavel Korepin, designed the Aquapark as part of the landscape and recreational zone Shartashsky quarry in Yekaterinburg. The architect managed to see in the existing career the result of the "first stage of the geo-plastic operation", the basis for further creative activity. This is the highlight of the project, the main idea of which is to comprehend the importance of water in modern life. One of the ways to implement the idea is to use the roof of the building all year round: for example, in the summer there should be a recreational area of the water park, and in the winter there should be an ice rink. By the way, the nomination "Youth cultural and entertainment complex" was the most popular in the competition: 87 projects participated in it.
“The Friendship Park of Peoples in Ulyanovsk” was chosen as a theme for the experiments by only 14 people. Mikhail Bogatyrev became the winner in this nomination. He proposed to make the park a continuation of the Soviet Lenin Memorial Complex, raving the park near the Volga and saturating it with vertical communications.
From scratch
The winners in other nominations preferred not to change the existing one, but to create a completely new one. Thus, Anna Vladimirova won the nomination "Residential neighborhood in the city of Dimitrovgrad, Ulyanovsk region" with a project for a residential neighborhood for 8000 residents. In the energetic author's description of the project, the motto of the projected quarter sounds like this: "The mission is feasible." The fact is that the projected housing is intended for employees of the Federal High-Tech Center for Medical Radiology, who every day, spending great energy and experiencing great emotional stress, "carry out a noble mission - to provide assistance to seriously ill people." Therefore, the architect tried to provide the residents of this microdistrict with maximum comfort, as well as preserve as much green space as possible.
The project of Ekaterina Kapatun won in the category "Apartment house for youth". The house, which is supposed to be located in Yaroslavl, in fact turns out to be a multifunctional complex. The author has conceived the possibility of expanding the area of apartments in the future, taking into account the growth of families. A comprehensive service for residents is also provided: on the lower floors of the building there are shops, sports centers, a preschool educational center.
Tatiana Boyarkina's school of the future took first place in the "Public buildings for young families" nomination. Such a school should become a full-fledged space for the comprehensive development of the child. In it, in addition to lessons, children will be able to attend circles, dance, swim in the pool and just communicate: a special place is assigned for each type of activity. The senior and junior schools are separated by an atrium. The use of solar panels is assumed.
The original Ethno-Cultural Center "KUTKH" was offered by the architectural studio Hi! Arch in the category "Leisure Center in the Countryside". The authors took into account the climatic and socio-economic conditions of the Tavayvaam village of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, which is located on the shore of the Anadyr Bay, and created a building resembling in its outline the national Chukchi dwelling - yarengu. Halls for temporary and permanent exhibitions, dance and sports halls, clubs, a library - all this should fit in one compact building with rounded corners "to reduce wind and snow resistance".
The scientific research greenhouse complex for growing grapes by Svetlana Vasilyeva, who won the Scientific Innovation Center nomination, looks rather unusual. The organizer informs that the jury members, despite the high appraisal of the project, discussed for a long time how realistic its implementation is. The future Ryazan greenhouse is not easy: it is a spiral building with many curved glass edges. One of the main innovations tested at the site is the collection and filtration of rainwater. A control system and microclimate creation is also used.
Solemn awarding of the winners of the competition will take place on August 27 in Ulyanovsk. Becoming a winner of the competition is a good prospect, since in addition to monetary rewards for valuable prizes and subscriptions to thematic magazines, authors of the best projects will receive recommendations for the practical implementation of their projects, and some winners will be lucky enough to undergo an internship at AREP, which has developed the Skolkovo urban planning concept.
