The L-shaped building adjoins the elevated High Line Park, and its façades, with their beaten rhythm of steel profiles and balconies, reflect the difference in height between the former railway overpass and the surrounding streets.
The house has 39 apartments (from two to five bedrooms, ceiling height - 3.3 m); among them - three penthouses, the most expensive of which was sold for $ 50 million (its area is about 600 m2). All apartments have Boffi kitchen sets designed by ZHA, and the architects also designed common interiors, including a wellness area with a spa and a 25-meter pool, an IMAX cinema and a sculpture garden.
The metal details of the facades are a tribute to the surroundings: in this part of Manhattan, there are many preserved buildings with cast iron wall panels. In the case of 520 West 28th Street, the steel profiles have been hand-finished with their matte finish and dark tone.
