The college is a new type of educational institution: theory and practice are very closely intertwined in it. Therefore, in addition to the departments of engineering, health care and service (for a total of 1,300 students), the building will house several commercial tenant firms, which should connect studies with reality.
The center of the building will be an atrium with stands - the main public space of the college. There will be large showcase windows through which one can get acquainted with education at any of the "faculties".
The architects chose two main materials for the building - wood and glass, which should make the college open and attractive. The project takes into account a variety of "green" elements, so the building will qualify for the "very good" rating of the BREEAM system.
Construction is scheduled for 2012–2014. The area of the future college will be 8,500 m2.
