Usually, the scope of application of ventilation facades was public or industrial facilities. And the SMK company successfully applied the AluWALL ventilated facade system in the construction of the Million Scarlet Roses residential building in Moscow, Saburovo.

Let's take a look at all the benefits.

The residential building, named "Million of Scarlet Roses", is a rather complex architectural structure, consisting of three 20-storey sections.

The authors of the project paid great attention to the architectural appearance of the building. In order to increase its aesthetic appeal, they actively used color in the decoration of external enclosing structures, enriched the plastic of the facades with verticals of semicircular bay windows and balconies, made decorative endings above each bay window in the form of a three-dimensional structure resembling a hyperbolic paraboloid.

The structural scheme of the building is based on a monolithic reinforced concrete frame. The outer walls of the object are also made in a monolith. Moreover, in accordance with the first version of the project, the enclosing structures were supposed to be plastered over insulation.

The decision to use the hinged ventilated system “AluWALL” was made much later, or rather, at the time when the monolith erection was completed. When examining the outer walls of this object at an elevation of 60 m, a deviation from the vertical was recorded, which no plastering system would have allowed leveling. According to the construction schedule, the commissioning of the house was scheduled for winter time. Everyone knows that the production of plastering works at temperatures below + 5 ° C is associated with additional costs. And if you consider the fact that the building is more than 60 m high, complicated configuration in terms of plan, it is not known what difficulties would have to be faced during the installation of scaffolding. Taking into account the upcoming operating costs, it turned out that the hinged system "AluWALL" with an air gap is even cheaper.

For the tender, the participating companies mounted 4 demonstrative samples, of which only one completely repeated the semicircular shape of the bay window without distortion: the “AluWALL” system. Everyone liked the finishing option made by SMK: the architect appreciated the decorative and technological capabilities of the system, and the customer was quite satisfied with the price

It should be noted that bay windows are not only an element that enriches the plastic of the facade, they are a serious headache for designers.

The most difficult issue that SMK specialists had to solve when facing bay windows was the issue of drainage of rain streams. The drainage system was brought under the traverse system, through which water flows down to the low tide and then goes into the traverse. To increase the corrosion resistance, the frame elements are coated with a layer of thermosetting polyester paint 80 µm thick. The “AluWALL” system takes into account the operating conditions of the facility: when developing the design scheme of the facade, the wind load that occurs at the highest point of the facility (at a height of 66 m) was taken as the calculated value. Therefore, all hinged elements (flat or curved in plan along an arc) made of aluminum sheet 1.5-2 mm thick and reinforced with stiffeners.

Three-dimensional structures of a rather complex configuration, installed above the bay windows, were originally planned to be cast from concrete. However, such an architectural form was not only difficult to manufacture, but also to raise to a height of 60 m. The designers of "SMK" offered their solution: hyperbolic paraboloids are a fairly lightweight structure, consisting of a frame and hinged facing elements made of sheet aluminum that can be easily rolled.

Thanks to the possibility of combining a steel substructure and aluminum cassettes, the AluWALL system acquires such important qualities for the facade as reliability, strength, fire safety, lightness, durability, ease of use and maintenance, environmental friendliness, aesthetics. A high degree of structural stability and a fairly high installation speed, as well as the ability to install at any time of the year, make the AluWALL system attractive for builders and customers.
