On October 20 at the House on Brestskaya the annual festival “Landscape architecture. A View from the House 2011”, the longevity of which can only be compared with“Zodchestvo”. The competition and exposition programs of the largest Moscow show of landscape painters are the same from year to year, only the theme of the special project is changing - this time the designers will create installations on the theme of "Man's Parking".

On the same day, the scientific conference "Landscape culture of the world: creators and keepers" begins at the Russian State Humanitarian University. The reports and discussions are dedicated to specific persons in the history of landscape art - architects and patrons of the arts, museum workers and restorers, customers and gardeners.

On October 18, Project Russia magazine is to sum up the results of the third final stage of the Avangard 2011 award. Let us remind you that the award, founded by the Russian Avant-garde Foundation of Sergei Gordeev, was launched as part of the ARCH Moscow NEXT 2011 festival, where four finalists were selected out of 20 nominees in the clausure competition. In the course of the third, research stage, they carried out an assignment to design an educational institution in Russia, having previously traveled to Europe for a short internship.

In turn, the Project Baltia magazine on October 20 at the St. Petersburg House of Architects will hold a lecture “Sound Architecture” dedicated to projects, the most important component of which is acoustics. It will focus on the design and interiors of such objects as the unique wooden Sibelius Concert Hall in Finland, the Mariinsky Theater Concert Hall in St. Petersburg and many others.

A lecture hall continues to work at the Moscow Museum of Architecture: on October 18, museum employee I. A. Kazus, October 20, Yu. V. Ratomskaya will give a lecture on Novgorod architecture of the 11th-16th centuries.

The V International Urban Development Exhibition CityBuild opens on Monday at the All-Russian Exhibition Center, within the framework of which the issues of underground and high-rise construction, prefabricated and energy-saving buildings and many other construction and engineering topics will be considered. And on October 20-21, St. Petersburg will host the Forum of Chief Engineers and Technical Directors, the special topic of which will be the Russian experience in the reconstruction and expansion of industrial facilities.
