A rather extensive program of speeches by specialists from different regions is planned for three days. Often, it is in this circle that valuable discoveries of architects and art critics are heard for the first time, which are then traditionally published in the yearbook of the same name.

On the same day, the III All-Russian Archaeological Congress starts in Staraya Russa in the Novgorod Region. The tradition of holding congresses was revived in 2006, and was founded already in 1869, when specialists of archaeological science first gathered to discuss problems and was open in their field. And just proceeding from history, the current congress will be already the 19th. Today, one of the most pressing issues on the agenda is the preservation and restoration of the archaeological heritage, which, unfortunately, is not sufficiently protected by the current law.

Today in the CHA opens an interesting retrospective exhibition of the monumental artist Ivan Lubennikov, which for the first time quite fully presents his work - sketches of the exteriors and interiors of the Mayakovsky Museum, the facades of the Moscow Theater on Taganka, the Mayakovskaya, Slavyansky and Sretensky Boulevard metro stations, as well as the Madeleine metro station in Paris and much more.

Also, from today, the Cinema Club "Fitil" on the Frunzenskaya embankment invites you to a special program of architectural cinema within the framework of the international film festival "2-in-1". The audience will be presented with four films shot in the 1960s and 80s, during the period of reassessment of the values of modernism. Each of them talks about it in their own way: “Last Year in Marienbad” directed by Alain Robbe-Grillet is in the spirit of a refined structuralist melodrama, and Peter Greenaway’s film “The Belly of an Architect” should rather be attributed to the works of postmodernism. Each screening is accompanied by a lecture by the arch-critics - Kirill Ass, Elena Gonzalez, Alexander Selivanov and Denis Romodin. This format - "film + lecture" - according to the organizers, will help the townspeople better understand the meaning of such concepts as "man and architectural space", "spatial and temporal dimensions of architecture", etc.

On October 25, an unusual educational project "Entering the City" will start in the capital, inviting on excursions to the monuments of history and culture. Unusual because this time the organizers are the officials of the Moscow Heritage Committee. Excursions along the routes of Moscow Art Nouveau, avant-garde and Stalinist Art Deco will be conducted by Moscow scholars and researchers of architecture Elena Ovsyannikova, Nikolai Vasiliev, Denis Romodin, Sergei Merzhanov.

On October 26, Crocus Expo will open the largest commercial exhibition for low-rise cottage construction and interior design "Beautiful Houses 2011", within the framework of which a review competition will be held and the Russian National Prize in the field of low-rise cottage construction will be awarded.

And, finally, there is still time left for submission of works for an interesting creative competition of projects of the Museum of Samovars in the Tula Region. In addition to architects, the widest audience is invited to participate; even special education is not required. Absolutely any sketch can become the basis for the exhibition space, which should house a private collection of samovars, numbering about 500 exhibits.
