The drama theater in the Norman city of Evreux was built in 1903 according to the lavish eclectic design of the architect Léon Legendre on the site of a Roman theater of the 1st century AD. However, after a hundred years, the Legendre theater fell into disrepair and in 2006 was closed as requiring significant repairs and even unsafe. The role here was played by unstable soil, which for a long time hindered the successful reconstruction: too much money was required to solve this problem. At the same time, the building that has the status of a monument in the very center of the city, next to the town hall, had to be put in order - and in accordance with modern requirements for entertainment institutions.

The Opus 5 project, which was eventually completed, combines restoration with the reconstruction of those parts that can no longer be restored. This primarily concerned the end southern facade, which was practically ruined. A glazed foyer was added to it, and behind it was a volume with new dressing rooms and lounges for artists, a rehearsal studio, director's and director's offices. Three bridges lead there from the historic building through the foyer, more precisely, one three-tiered one. On the basement floor there are storage facilities for props, etc.

The eastern façade, into which the backstage space opens, has also received a new look because this space has been expanded to accommodate modern machinery.

The east and south facades are covered with 27 fiber-reinforced concrete panels measuring 2.28 mx 13.5 m. They were cast in a factory in a completely closed mold to achieve a minimum thickness of 8 cm and a minimum weight of 11.2 tons.

The rest of the facades of the historic building have been carefully restored, including the main one, the western one, facing the Place Georges Brassens, which also overlooks the media library and the House of Arts. The auditorium and foyer were also restored to the look of the early 20th century.
