Noravank, the creation of the architect Momik. In addition, the area is renowned for the production of various types of red wines.
“Picnic area” is an open terrace located along a mountain stream in a small gorge of amazing beauty. The architects were tasked with minimal interference with the natural environment.
Two "L" -shaped walls of the building, placed at the point of relief difference between the level of the road and the river bank, serve as supports for the stairs leading down to the terrace. A lightweight metal frame, supported by concrete "shoes" and walls, supports a polycarbonate stepped canopy that protects from rain and the sultry summer sun.
In the second concrete volume, which protects from the winds blowing in the gorge, there is a barbecue (barbecue), a place for storing firewood, a room for utensils and a dry closet. In the back of the terrace, along the wall, there is a long table for traditional Armenian feasts.
Architectural structures have minimal contact with the relief, the forms are "transparent" and do not interfere with the full feeling that the guests are in the lap of nature.
