The demolition of the Eastern arena of the Dynamo stadium, which began on February 10, caused a sharp reaction from the Internet community. The developer of the VTB-Arena reconstruction has begun work, despite its own promise not to destroy the monument of history and culture. The coordinator of "Arkhnadzor" Konstantin Mikhailov tells more about this in the blog of the movement and in the "Do not break" community. And Marina Khrustaleva, in her blog on the Snob portal, recalls that not only city defenders advocated the preservation of the Dynamo facades, but, for example, the Dutch architect Erik van Egeraat, who won an international competition for the reconstruction of the stadium, and was subsequently removed from work on the project (the order was transferred to a little-known American architect David Manik).

Interestingly, the investor believes that the northern, southern and eastern parts of the stadium's facades are of little value, since they were demolished and rebuilt in the late 1970s for the Moscow Olympics. True, at the same time he somehow ignores the fact that the Executive Committee of the Moscow City Council in 1987 recognized all four arenas as an architectural monument. In other words, a year ago Dynamo was listed as a monument and the configuration of the outer walls, the general composition, and the architectural design of all facades, and even the characteristics of the plaster were subject to protection. nothing stands in the way of new construction on its territory. Arkhnadzor also publishes on its blog letters of protest from Russian and foreign experts, outraged by the unprecedented onslaught on the architectural heritage of the 20th century - the simultaneous destruction of the Detsky Mir department store and the Dynamo stadium. In particular, this time the Spanish Association for the Preservation of the Architectural Heritage of the Twentieth Century applied to the Moscow mayor's office.

The results of yet another very controversial reconstruction are discussed on the website of the Afisha magazine, where an article titled “What has become of the Moscow Hotel” has been published. Numerous commentators are unanimous in the opinion that the interiors of the newly rebuilt hotel are "hyperpaphos and glamor", behind which there is not a hint of the "Moscow" that it used to be.

Architect Eduard Hayman published in his blog a competition design for townhouses for the Skolkovo innovation center. The project called "O6" can rightfully be called "green": it is a closed residential ring that merges with the natural environment, in addition, on its roof, the authors have provided for the possibility of installing solar panels and other alternative energy sources.

The Internet continues to discuss the already completed competition of design projects to decorate the street space of Perm. Thus, the public figure Denis Galitsky believes that the project of the Art. Lebedev Studio, which won the online competition, “does not correspond to the character” of Komsomolsky Prospekt. The author casts doubt on the idea of the bureau to create a single promenade space: firstly, hardly anyone would want to walk in the middle of a 6-lane highway, and secondly, a through passage is impossible because of the cross streets. As for the red and white gates at the beginning of the avenue, in the author's opinion, they do not correspond to either the scale or the aesthetics of the street. A detailed description of the project is posted on the website of the Art. Lebedev Studio. There, in particular, it is said that in addition to including small architectural forms in the fabric of the avenue and creating a boulevard, the authors proposed to place a shopping center at the end of Kompros, as well as a chain of stores. The project provides for renovation in the style of the new avenue and existing buildings.

Architect Alexander Lozhkin in his blog talks about the visit to Perm by representatives of the International Society of Urban and Regional Planners (ISOCARP). The purpose of this visit is to discuss the structure and program of the ISOCARP Congress, which will take place in Perm in September 2012. And businessman and journalist Aleksey Merkulov discusses the topic "What was Sverdlovsk like and how did we make Yekaterinburg?" In one post, he compares photographs of the city center from the last century to the present. In another, he writes about the old Pestovs' house preserved in the middle of the "glass" skyscrapers of Yekaterinburg. This semi-stone two-story mansion with carved wooden decor was built at the end of the 19th century and is famous for the fact that the writer Arkady Gaidar once lived there. The house itself is privately owned, but the land plot on which it is built is not, and this legal conflict, unfortunately, makes the restoration of the monument extremely difficult, but no one in the region is in a hurry to resolve it.
