Eleven nominees of the competition, whose projects the jury found the most interesting, on Tuesday had the opportunity to tell about their "active homes" not only to the jury, but also to a wide audience - the entrance to the gallery was free for everyone. Each of the finalists of the competition was given approximately 10 minutes to present their project, followed by questions from the jury and the expert council. Some of the participants did not limit themselves to traditional tablets and show slides on a projector, but even made visual models of their "active houses". The jury considered them with obvious interest.
After the nominees finished their performances, the members of the jury and the expert council retired to discuss projects and decide on the winner of the Active House 2012 competition. During the break, it was possible to get acquainted with the projects at the exhibition in more detail or to communicate with the authors of this or that "active house". Young architects willingly shared their ideas on the topic of energy efficiency, environmental friendliness and other fundamental principles of "green" architecture on the example of their projects and discussed how to convey all these "active" principles to the sometimes completely amorphous traditional consciousness of the customer.
But then the jury appeared and everyone began to look forward to the announcement of the results. This mission was undertaken by Evgeny Ass, he said that all the projects were interesting in their own way and deserved attention, during a closed discussion they touched upon each of them, sometimes opinions differed, and as a result they awarded the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (with an award of 200, 100 and 50 thousand rubles, respectively). However, even the winning project will be refined in the course of implementation, taking into account technological nuances.
The winner of the Active House 2012 competition was the project of Tatiana Skorduli. Her project seems interesting not only because of the successful techniques of the "active" house, by and large, to one degree or another, they were used by all the participants of the competition, because this was predetermined by the terms of reference, but her project also carries a beautiful semantic load: as Tatyana herself says, she wanted to create a monument to the Russian hut. The concrete facade of the house keeps the prints of logs, boards, platbands of a village house, repeating the display of the past as on a photo-negative. Variations of prints may be different, but the goal is the same - not to let people forget about the culture in the heat of passion for new technologies.
The second place was given to the project of Anton Mosin's workshop. According to the author, his one-story house, raised only 15 centimeters from the ground, should actively interact with the surrounding landscape and even, to some extent, be its continuation.
The third was shared by two projects - Igor Chirkin,
as well as a project by Tatiana Leshikhina and Anastasia Gritskova.
Audience Award based on
the voting for the best project on facebook was won by Maria Vlasova.
One of the organizers of the competition was the company "NLK-Domostroenie", its special prize "For an economical and thoughtful constructive solution" (150,000 rubles), she awarded Nikolai Vorotnikov.
It must be said that the jury's decision on the main winners feels well-grounded and even predictable. We chose those houses that, in addition to the well-developed technical part, could boast of some kind of content, some special thoughtfulness and a search for a special image. Those houses that are more interesting than others answered an additional question of the competition about how to fit projects into the cultural and natural context. It is worth remembering that at the spring Moscow Archbiennale, its curator Bart Goldhoorn encouraged participants to reflect on identity. So, we can say that the discussion has already begun - with an active home.
