The main goal of the project is to unload the central station by creating an intercepting railway station in the west of the Ukrainian capital. Also, there is planned a station of the circular city train, ground transport stops and parking.
The glazed facades of the building open onto the forecourt square, and a partially green roof with pedestrian and bicycle paths faces the nearby residential buildings. This decision, also conditioned by the terrain, will allow to unite the green areas along the Syrets stream into a recreational “green corridor” for the adjacent area.
Functional spaces in the station building will be organized vertically: an automobile tunnel with transport stops will be arranged underground. The station square will be located higher. Although the exit from the metro will remain at street level, those wishing to change to other modes of transport will have to use the communications building connecting the metro, long-distance trains, commuter trains and ground transportation. From there you can get to the elevated walkway leading from the metro to the main station level with the lobby, shops and passenger platforms.
Under the platforms there is a 2-level parking lot with a small outdoor parking lot.
