The design site is located in the western part of the Moscow region, not far from Sheremetyevo-2, in a forested area, which is still away from any development and infrastructure, but due to its proximity to the highway will develop in the near future. Last year, a closed international competition was held for the concept of its development. Among the participants in this competition, along with foreign colleagues, was the architectural bureau ADM, which, as a result, became the winner.
The customer set the architects with a difficult and at the same time interesting urban task - to create literally from scratch a large-scale and rich business center with modern European-level offices, presumably intended for international companies, a hotel and a spacious parking lot. All this should have been placed on a site of a rather complex configuration, the outlines of which resemble either a giraffe or a dinosaur with a long neck directed to the northeast. Long and narrow "neck" in view of its non-standard parameters was the most problematic part of the territory, since any building built here would be isolated, cut off from the rest of the building.
Therefore, the architects of ADM proposed to divide the territory into two zones. In one - to concentrate all the significant objects of the complex, in the other, narrow - to place a multi-level parking. Taking into account the need to preserve the trees growing on the site as much as possible, it was decided to make the parking above ground. As a result, the six-level garage successfully occupied the “problem” part of the territory, providing the number of parking spaces required for such a large business center.
As for the main southwestern part, here Andrei Romanov and Ekaterina Kuznetsova proposed instead of a standard business center - the concept of a small, but cozy and self-sufficient city, organically and carefully built into a green forest. The complete absence of civilization around obliged to create it within the space under development. This is how the idea of a wide pedestrian boulevard appeared. It starts from a public transport stop, immediately behind which the reception is located - a transparent, fully glazed oval building (this technique - an entrance block with transparent walls, permeable and poet-friendly, the architects worked out several years ago, designing
business center in Nastavnichesky lane). Passing through the reception, a person finds himself under a high, picturesquely winding canopy that covers the entire space of the boulevard from beginning to end.
The paved road, like a river, making a smooth ride between slender pine trees, with bizarre waves one after another captures the sites of office towers, splashes out with a sleeve in the direction of the parking lot, the edge of the ridge touches the quadrangular section of the hotel and just as gracefully and leisurely returns to the starting point, closing in a ring. Inside the ring, an islet of pine forest is left untouched.
The roof of the canopy over the promenade is covered with grass, on which stones are scattered here and there, a legacy of the Japanese garden. So from above from the offices you will see a wide green ribbon pierced with pine trunks - downright a science fiction's dream, a green, multilevel city. Meanwhile, under the "green veil" life is boiling violently. Here and there, the boulevard is animated with street cafes, small shops, places for recreation - in a word, this is a real city street, a place where people meet and communicate. The promenade not only solves a pragmatic communication problem, but, green and comfortable, saturated with public spaces, urban furniture and street lamps, it forms the human scale of the perception of the complex. The street unites and connects all buildings, making them live and work in a single rhythm - the rhythm of the city. And, nevertheless, despite the richness of the boulevard's life and even despite the fact that (very occasionally) V. I. P. cars will pass along it, the space of the “office promenade” is more reminiscent of a park - picturesque, natural, forest, with many trees. Architects keep the trees growing in the middle of the pavement by carefully guiding their trunks through circular holes in the green canopy. And the supports supporting the roof, inclined at different angles, echo the pine trunks, as if insisting on their involvement in the surrounding forest.
Actually, the main component of the complex is seven glass towers with a rectangular plan (allowing for the least loss of usable area). Their tops are effectively cut obliquely, and the tallest tower reaches 75 meters. On the facades, glass alternates asymmetrically with rectangles of wooden panels: this makes the towers a little more varied and warmer. Six high-rise office buildings, they are set in pairs opposite each other along the ring of the main street. The seventh, set a little further, in the northeastern ledge of the site, and facing the highway, is intended for an international hotel.
Panoramic glazing of facades will allow future office employees to admire the surrounding views. However, this was not enough for the authors of the project. According to Andrey Romanov, they wanted to literally integrate glass skyscrapers into the forest, despite the fact that they rise incomparably higher than the tallest pines. Trying to enhance the effect of presence, the architects added to the strict volumes of the towers cantilever arms hanging over the forest from the side of the boardwalk. The consoles house spacious meeting rooms with glass walls from ceiling to floor. A person inside such a space will undoubtedly take their breath away from the sensation of flight: the meeting room literally hovers in the space above the forest. Its interior, on the one hand, will be open to the natural environment, immersed in the sky; on the other hand, the theme of overcoming nature, first of all gravitation, the intonation of admiring both the landscape and the technical capabilities of a person who ascended above him in his spatial "capsule" undoubtedly sounds here.
So, ADM architects are growing a forest of skyscrapers among the pine trees. The combination of open office technicalism of glass towers with transparent consoles hanging in space is impressive - and attention to detail, to grass and trees, to the quality of public space: open to people and nature, developed and at the same time calm, forest. ADM architects have been developing these themes over the past few years: now the bureau is completing the construction of several office complexes, each of which combines light modern architecture, respect for each tree and bush already growing on the territory, as well as a level of design that is completely unusual for Moscow. the so-called improvement (urban furniture, pavement, lighting and various types of grass), in other words, a serious approach to organizing the environment of the business parks they create. Once in the breeding ground of a large-scale project near Moscow, unencumbered by restrictions, all these qualities grew and took shape. Not surprisingly, the project won an international competition.
