Six teams participating in the second stage of the competition were determined by the results of voting by the international jury in December 2012 (see, for example, the November article in Gazeta.ru). The participants were:

- "Mecanoo International B. V." (Netherlands) and TPO "Reserve" (Russia),
- Farshid Moussavi Architecture (Great Britain) and Rozhdestvenka Architectural Bureau (Russia),
- "Massimiliano Fuksas Architetto" (Italy) and "Speech" (Russia),
- "3XN A / S" (Denmark) and "Asadov Architectural Studio" (Russia),
- Leeser Architecture (USA) and ABD Architects (Russia).
Two days ago, the projects were published on the competition website, and on March 20, an exhibition opened at the Polytechnic Museum. The winner will be announced on March 26, before that the authorship of the projects was not disclosed.

For two months, the participants worked on the creation of architectural concepts for the new building of the Museum and Educational Center. Their projects have passed technical expertise and will be evaluated by a jury taking into account such criteria as their feasibility, the quality of planning, urban planning and conceptual solutions, as well as the planned level of construction and operation costs. All projects are submitted to the jury under codes and in full confidentiality.
The jury included the director of the Copernicus Science Center (Warsaw) and the President of the International Association of Science Museums and Ecsite Centers Robert Firmhofer (Poland), the head and founder of the Kleihues + Kleihues architectural bureau Jan Kleihues (Germany), the co-founder and head of the urban planning department of the UNStudio bureau Carolina Bose (Netherlands), CEO of Event Communications Ltd. James Alexander (Great Britain), Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation Natalya Samoilenko, architecture critic and publicist Grigory Revzin, Vice-Rector of Moscow State University. Lomonosov Victor Trofimov, Deputy General Director of the Polytechnic Museum Yulia Shakhnovskaya and Chief Architect of the City of Moscow, Chairman of the Jury Sergei Kuznetsov.

From 20 to 31 March 2013, the final exhibition of the competition projects was opened at the Polytechnic Museum. On March 26, Sergey Kuznetsov will present the results of the jury meeting to the Board of Trustees of the Polytechnic Museum, which will make the final decision on the winner of the competition. It is planned to conclude an agreement with the winner for the development of design documentation for the building of the Museum and Educational Center of the Polytechnic Museum and Moscow State University.
