The new building is owned by the Department of Architecture and the Environment at Bond University and is located on its campus in Robin, an area of the Gold Coast that was built from the ground up in the 1980s. At the same time, a university town was built - according to the general plan of Arata Isozaki.

The design of the architectural school takes into account the requirements of the educational process. Cook and his workshop partner Gavin Robotem have taught at the world's leading architecture universities and are well aware of which building is best suited for study. It should create a "theater feel" where experiments are done, inspiration comes, friendships form, and even "strange things happen." Therefore, the building contains spaces of various types - quiet corners and "pockets", platforms and "escape routes". But the main feature of the project is the concrete "buckets" that also play a structural role - premises for informal meetings and presentations of student works. All this spatial diversity is united by the “street” running in the middle, rising and falling following the landscape: the building bends around the top of the hill.

However, the authors of the project are well aware that universities are very susceptible to change: it is enough to change the leadership, and their life can go differently. Therefore, their construction does not set a rigid use case and should not hinder possible changes.

The project takes into account the local climate - very hot and rather humid. Best of all, the northern facade is protected from the sun, where most of the direct sunlight falls: all its openings are equipped with various sun protection devices, including metal canopies - "curbs". The largest western façade is shaded by a large roof overhang and numerous columns supporting it. The southern façade, in contrast, protects the building from cold winds from Antarctica.
