For the first time, about sixty paintings by Renoir were brought to Italy from the collections of the Paris museums Musée d'Orsay and Musée de l'Orangerie, which reflect important milestones and turning points in the artist's career. Despite the stereotypical perception of Renoir as a carefree artist, full of joy in life, he was in constant search, was always open to new ideas: an impressionist who broke the rules of artistic display and at the same time - a classicist who honored traditions.

The lighting project for the exhibition was carried out by Studio Balestreri Lighting Design using the Compass floodlights for the three-phase busbar from FLOS Architectural. They are equipped with two light sources with different technical characteristics: one LED - with a wide and flood light, providing the general mood in the exhibition hall and illuminating the paintings with a warm bright light, very similar to the sunlight in which they were painted; the other is halogen with beams of different diameters, which focuses the visitor's attention on specific works, snatching from the general plan with directional light.

All Flos Compass luminaires offer smooth dimming and light levels suitable for works of art, especially those as delicate as pastels on paper. Additionally, beam alignment accessories were used, such as diffusing or diffractive lenses; as well as accessories against glare such as protective curtains and grilles.
