On February 10-11, the IV Russian Investment and Construction Forum was held in Moscow in Gostiny Dvor, organized by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of Russia with the participation of leading professional and industry associations and organizations. The official sponsor of the event was the KNAUF CIS group, one of the leading manufacturers of gypsum-based construction and finishing materials. In addition, the company held its own session “Application of modern advanced technologies and materials in Russian construction” within the framework of the Forum, where a memorandum was signed on the establishment of a joint venture with the SVEZA group.

Opening the session, the manager of the Knauf CIS group Janis Kralis noted that, with very rare exceptions, construction and repairs are fraught with difficulties. “These are either new unusual tasks, or suddenly emerging circumstances, deadlines, problems. Knauf is trying to make sure that builders, amateurs and professionals have no doubts that they can easily overcome these difficulties. This is achieved both through our innovative solutions, the creation of which is contributed by more than 25 thousand employees in more than 70 countries of the world, and through constant readiness for dialogue,”said Mr. Crowlis in his welcoming speech.

Such events also become elements of such a dialogue. The main topics of the session were: modular housing construction, energy efficient technologies for the construction of low-rise housing and the practical application of modern high-rise construction technologies. The session was moderated by Nikolai Shumakov, President of the Union of Moscow Architects. Speakers: Elena Nikolaeva, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Housing Policy and Housing and Utilities, President of the National Agency for Low-Rise and Cottage Construction, Werner Nepple, Head of Cocoon Light Structures - "Lungs structures in modular construction ", Gennady Sirota, chief architect of MIBC" Moscow-City "-" Features of the use of building technologies in high-rise construction ", as well as Evgeny Pikul, Managing Director of ProfStalDom, and Andrey Kashubsky, General Director of SVEZA.

The most striking event of the session was the signing of a memorandum between OOO KNAUF GIPS and OOO SVEZA-Les on the establishment of a joint venture for the production of prefabricated modular houses in Russia. The document was signed by the managing director of the KNAUF CIS group Janis Kraulis and the general director of SVEZA Andrey Kashubsky. According to it, the parties agreed to create a joint venture with equal shares of participation to combine efforts to promote technologies for the construction of prefabricated modular houses in Russia with the subsequent organization of the production of such houses in the country. Thus, the companies are opening a new segment of construction of modern comfortable economy class houses in Russia.

Later in his report "Advantages of modular housing construction and its prospects in Russia," Mr. Kashubsky noted that the transition to modular construction allows, simultaneously with increasing economic efficiency, reducing production costs and construction time, to achieve high quality inherent in an individual solution, and a standard set standard solutions allows you to implement many unique projects, the use of modern technologies - compliance with the highest requirements for energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, seismic resistance, acoustic comfort, etc.

The mass construction of prefabricated modular houses is an innovative approach to housing construction in Russia that best meets the needs of the country and neighboring countries for modern comfortable economy class housing.

KNAUF CIS Group Managing Director Janis Kralis said: “We see significant prospects for low-rise modular construction in Russia. The transition to modular construction allows, simultaneously with increasing economic efficiency, reducing production costs and construction time, to achieve high quality, as with an individual solution. A standard set of typical designs allows for the implementation of many ultimately unique projects. And the use of modern technologies means meeting the highest requirements for the result."

The production of elements for the blocks, according to Mr. Kashubsky, will be carried out at large industrial enterprises with an estimated volume of investments in their creation - 35 million euros. The assembly of blocks for modular houses - at satellite enterprises, the creation of which will require much less investment - about 7 million euros. Such a scheme will reduce the risks that arise when transporting finished blocks over long distances. For a better understanding of the essence of the structures and the result obtained by the builders and customers of such houses, the participants in the joint venture will develop visual interactive visualization systems using information technologies. The houses will be assembled by authorized dealers. In the future, the parties also plan to use franchise schemes in their work.

Low-rise housing is the most natural and comfortable for a person. In Russia, it is necessary to build a huge number of low-rise buildings at a much faster pace than is happening now. This is possible only with the use of modern building and finishing technologies, such as frame and modular housing construction. It is also necessary to talk about the integrated development of territories, about the creation of infrastructure: roads, opportunities for the supply of gas, electricity, water. Otherwise, the stated targets for the cost per square meter of housing will remain unattainable.

Elena Nikolaeva spoke about effective measures to improve the quality of housing construction in the Russian Federation.

Low-rise modular and frame construction has enormous potential in the field of housing in Russia, but is not limited to it. In his report, Yevgeny Pikul spoke about a successfully implemented kindergarten project in Tula, being built using frame construction technology, the implementation of which in a turnkey format is cheaper than the average cost of similar objects built using traditional technologies. At the same time, the building fully meets all modern requirements for the safety of children, including environmental ones, and in terms of its operational characteristics, in particular energy efficiency, it noticeably surpasses them.
