The first stone in the foundation of the future church was laid in August 2014 in the Korolevka microdistrict of the city of Smolensk, and in the spring of 2015 the planned opening took place. On Easter days, Bishop Isidore of Smolensk and Vyazemsk consecrated the Temple in honor of St. John of the Ladder.
It is noteworthy that the church is almost entirely built from Porotherm products. Large-format porous ceramic blocks Porotherm 38 were used for the construction of load-bearing external walls, which do not require additional insulation. Warm Porotherm TM mortar was used for laying Porotherm blocks. Porotherm ceramic lintels were used for the construction of window and door openings.
This is not the first socially significant building made of Porotherm ceramic blocks. Schools, gymnasiums, churches and other facilities were built. It is important for Wienerberger that these buildings are reliable, durable, with a good microclimate, because all these components allow you to fully study and work in these buildings.
And in 2015, at the Church of St. John Climacus, it is planned to build a youth Orthodox center, also using large-format porous ceramic blocks Porotherm.
