On June 25, with the support of ARCH-SKIN, the opening of the GEOMETRY OF LIGHT exhibition took place. The exhibition project is located in the annex of the Shchusev State Museum of Architecture "Ruin".
The exhibition is a set of installations related to the study of the structure of light. The artists' works cover the last 15 years of their creative path.
Tatyana Badanina presented the optical objects "Well" and "Reverse Perspective" in 2010 and the latest project - "White Clothes". Using the technique of generalization, the artist tells the story of different historical periods and cultures.
Minimalistic and close to the experience of the constructivists of the early 20th century and the works of Vladimir Nasedkin. The name of his painting cycle gave the name to the entire exhibition project - "Geometry of Light". The artist is working on effects that use light to create a sense of a warped space.
The exhibition tells the story of an art form that, by turning to minimalism and working on the study of the structure of light, shows the collision and interpenetration of painting, installation, architectural space and optical techniques.
"If Nasedkin's artifacts create the impression of constancy and invincibility, then Badanina's works are molded, plastic, changeable and ambivalent," comments American Slavist and art critic John Boult.
